So, life was good...quiet and peaceful, for the most part. Then summer school started and my first day of Sociology 110.6. Sounds like a pretty good class so far. So, by the end of the first lecture, I'm ready to buy my books. The blood drains from my cheeks as I oggle the bank account balance of a whopping $24.00. Okay, I get a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach and need to go to the bathroom. I call up Saskatchewan student loans and ask them what the fuck they think they're doing, screwing up my life like this. They tell me that there's a restriction on my file. Yeah...the same one that was on my file in FEBRUARY that was supposed to have been cleared up. Funny how that didn't happen. So, how does the government approve a student loan if there is a restriction on the student's file, I ask you!!! Nobody knows, but they did it. Well, they tell me that they're waiting to hear from a different provincial government and there is nothing they can do to speed up the reply. If the restriction is removed, it will take 2 days to process and another week to see any money. I'm pissed by this time. So I stand there disbelieving, sweat soaking my back. I'm completely panicked. I have no idea how to get books, since I've already taken out an emergency student loan to pay the rent for May. I can't wait until the end of the month for books!! The pace is equivalent to one week per day! I can't even afford to be a MINUTE behind! I end up writing myself a cheque from my student line of credit since I still had a couple of hundred dollars emergency money in there and the hunt begins for used books. I find everything I need and still have money in my account for the inevitable pre-authorized payments that will be coming out...(I think the devil invented this and disguised it as a convenient time saver). So, I'm okay for now, as long as everything gets straightened out by the end of the month. *Sigh* My hair still isn't done. I can see already that this summer is going to take the cake.
