Maybe I'm a bitch
04.20.05 (3:31 pm)   [edit]

I've never really thought of myself that way, though I know that sometimes I can act like one.  But who doesn't act like a bitch from time to time?  I never really thought that I was a habitual bitch to the extent that I could fit comfortably into the classification, bitch.

But thinking about it, is it really so surprising that people who don't know me might label me as such?  I mean, when you stand up for what you believe is right and don't back down simply because everyone thinks that you should, is that enough to be tagged as a bitch?  To go against the grain and try to make a little dent of difference in an unfair world isn't bitchy.  At least I don't think it is.  Mabye for some people it is.  I don't look for trouble, I see it when so many others refuse to do the same.

No, I don't think that my oppinions and refusal to contribute to the poisoning of the populace is being bitchy.  It is simply unique; one voice drowning in a sea of indifferent conformity.  It is really no different than having a different skin tone or unusual hair color, I suppose.  It is just who I am.

So if you think that I'm a bitch, you can go f**k yourself.  You obviously know next to nothing about me.

Ahem....Please and thank you.

I sincerely hope that you didn't mistake my response on the survey as ME thinking you are a bitch. i completely agree with you - standing up for what you believe, trying to make a difference, refusing to back down - these are amazing qualities that i love about you. it's just that people are so unused to it that they feel they have to give it some sort of name or label to justify them being different. people feel guilty that they're not willing to do their part to make a difference and do what is right, so they respond negatively to those that do because it brings their shortcomings to light. you are a better person for your passion and your strength. i think the "norms" are just afraid to see it that way.

"Be who you wanna be, coz the people who mind dont matter, and the people who matter dont mind."

i don't think i could name a specific person. because none of the people that we consider as a group of friends, are people i would place in the "norms" category. and people outside of our group generally tend to get ignored cuz they're in that category of "the people who mind don't matter". people call me a bitch because i don't let them in for free to my punk shows. or because i don't remember them out of 20 people i met at some concert i booked a year ago. or because i look like i must be a bitch because of the way i dress. these people are jerks and their opinions are 100% unimportant. what i was trying to get across is that stupid people always misinterpret individuality in a negative way, and in the case of people who always stand up for what they believe in, the label "bitch" can be wrongfully applied. i dunno if we're miscommunicating, or if we're both taking things out of context, or what. the important thing is i love you and those who don't appreciate you for what you are can go to hell. like, right now.
