The phone rings and I pick it up to hear Kodi's voice on the other end. "Come outside." She tells me. So, I do. There is Kodi standing in my front yard with a little puppy. He needed a home.

I was very noncommital about this, so Kodi gave him to me to hold. Damn her!!! She knows that's what always gets me! I've gotten a few pets this way. So, I'm holding this sweet little puppy and he begins to gently nuzzle my neck and snuggle down into my arms. At this point, I probably still could have said no.

Then there's Leah, who was watching this whole thing with excitement. "Can we keep him, mommy? Can we pleeeeeeeese?"

I told Kodi that if the pup needed a home, we'd take him for now, but I can't commit to keeping him. (Yeah right). So we brought him in the house where we all cuddled and were warm and happy.

Within an hour, we had chewies, food, dishes, a nice leather collar, leash and a new tag sporting the name "Jake".

My reasoning? Well, I DID almost get broken into there. I figure it can't hurt having a dog, especialy in my neighbourhood.

I'm still a sucker for them puppy dog eyes though.

Yeah, I have a crate that I borrowed from the neighbour. He hates it. HATES it. I'm not getting much sleep at night. I'd put it in my room at night, but it's too big to carry up and down the stairs all the time. You totally have to come and meet him...he's such a sweetie!!

So what? The dog gets my leather collar and leash?! Sheesh. Say the safe word once and suddenly you can't be a sub. Heh.

Hmmm, you have to learn how to share. That's another lesson I see I'll have to teach you. Don't worry, the ball-gag is all yours though.

I'd also HIGHLY recommend something called the god-dog-toy!!

for some odd reason its one sound that dogs do NOT like and respond to with quiet. and a bit of fear... use it when they try to chew electrical cords and when they whimper or do something you dont like, but you have to do it to them during the course of action you don't want. pennies and pebbles inside a pop can, tape up the top and throw it so it lands near or over them. it took about a week to get licky to stop whimpering in her crate when we pur her in for sleeping. (after making sure she wasn't whimpering to go outside to pee...) also putting a blanket over the crate and tossing food in it when they are just wandering around, and give em some food everytime you put them in the crate, they'll go in just for the fun of it sometimes... gotta keep those treats around for such training...
