| Our first bike ride |

Yesterday,LG and I went on our very first bike ride...on TWO wheels!
I sat there atop my ultra cool banana seat bike, and watched her mount her little yellow rocket with the seat suspension and the license plate that says "spoiled". She pushed off with one foot, the other on the pedal, ready to give-er. She did this funny kinda half hop, half pedal thing. As her foot came back down to the ground, the only think keeping her from falling over, she repeated the entire process. The result was this funny kind of one-footed hopping down the length of the alley. Every minute that this continued, her frustration grew until she got so confuddled that she hit a fence. As she lay on the damp ground screaming, I made my way over to her. I gave her enough time to finish her tantrum before picking her up and brushing off her knees.
After repetative questioning and a great big hug, it was determined that she was still in one piece and that she wanted to keep going. A man from the friendship center by our house was watching from the balcony and brought her a brownie when he saw her fall. That was better than any bandaid I could have ever given her.
The same scenario repeated two or three times during our "bike ride", but before long, she got the hang of pushing off and successfully getting her other foot up on the petal in time to keep herself going. After this, there were only two more incidents with fences and one small setback when she steered herself off the sidewalk and landed in the street still on her wheels. No major injuries were reported, only hurt pride and frustration of not being a pro at something the first time you try it.
So,we rode down to the store where I treated both of us to lollypops, and we took the long way home.
I'm so happy that finally we'll be able to go bike riding together. I've waited so long!!!
