A friend indeed
05.18.06 (8:21 pm)   [edit]
I'm so tired of people who can look you in the eye and say things...then the next day they do something to contradict everything they just tried to make you believe.

Don't lie to people. Be what you are. Don't say you are what you're obviously not.

All I've ever asked of people is to be real with me. Don't put on pretenses...don't lie to me.

I guess I've just been a little hurt by someone who I thought was a good friend. At least...that's what this person kept telling me and that's what I wanted to believe. But recent events have truly shown me who my friends really are. Actually, many events have...this one just made me finally open my eyes to it.

I don't make close friends with people very easily. I'm really not comfortable with most people, and not many will take the time to come to know me. So, when I find someone who I can call a friend, they are very special to me, and I feel a deep loyalty to them. They become my family.

This other party has many many many friends. Maybe that's why it doesn't seem to bother her as much when she loses one.

I don't know...this has been slowly happening for a long time. Over a year. It's just that I was sitting here today reading through my email, and it just hit me. It's like...having a sick relative for a year who just died today.

And everything else goes on as though nothing has happened. And there will be twenty more to replace me.

This somehow reminded me of myself, well except for the part being faced with the truth about a dear friend.

I can relate with having so many few friends, while some of my friend's have a whole bunch of them; especially my supposedly "best friend".

I guess you just get to live with the fact that there are lots of hypocrites, even a mong our own list of friends. It gets funny when that one paticular person comes up to you and tells you how this other person is a hypocrite when he/she does the same thing as well.

I guess my point is, even friends come and go. Sit back and relax and enjoy the amusement.

..It seems like even 1 friend screw up can totally contribute in your whole overview of the concept of friends. At least it has done with me..

Sorry for the too many off-topics. =)

Thanks for your comments. My concept of friendship hasn't changed. I've just been outgrown, that's all. I understand it and it's okay. But that doesn't take all of the sting out of it.
