Before I get into the continuation of my holiday...I have to show you something really really cool!! This is for real! http://www.ebaumsworld.com/honda-ad.html" title="http://www.ebaumsworld.com/honda-ad.html" target="_blank"http://www.ebaumsworld.com/ho... Here are some facts on what you just saw... http://www.snopes.com/autos/business/hondac og.asp" title="http://www.snopes.com/autos/business/hondac og.asp" target="_blank"http://www.snopes.com/autos/b...
Friday I went exploring all by myself. I found this really cool shop that had so much stuff in it, there was barely room for people. I'm serious...there was stuff hanging from the roof, from bars set up through the store, laced on strings, in cases and cupboards...you name it! There were clothes, crystals, books, slippers, jewelery, sandals...even a motorized bike!! I had fun in there! I found a cool little kids store too. I couldn't help myself...I bought Leah a pink shirt with dark grey 3/4 sleeves with a black skull and crossbones on the front. Soooo cute!!!
On Saturday, we went CRABBING!!! There were 5 of us. It was kind of a gong show in the morning. Anna called in sick so that she could take us. We went to her place but they had already left, so headed out there making a pit stop at a gas station so that I could get my chocolate fix. When we came out, we saw Anna, Sylus and Shevona outside waving crazily at us. We all hit the liquor store and then the Safeway to get beer and bait. Then we were off. We passed Anna's car on the freeway (barely), both Fin and I lunging back and forth to make it look like our speed was due to the momentum we were creating. Then Anna pulled up to us at the next stop wearing a pair of hillbilly teeth. It was pretty funny. We got to the docks, baited and threw out our traps. Then we drank beer. And waited. And drank more beer. And ate chocolate covered beer. By the end of the day, we had no beer and no chocolate. But we DID have two crabs. Since we were all determined to have seafood for supper, we went for fish and chips. After that, we went to Shevona's place where we met her mother who promptly thrust one of her daughter's awards at us, loudly declaring that Shevona is the fashion designer for Da Vinci's Inquest. After giving thanks to the crab God, we killed and cooked our catch. I swear, it was the tastiest crab I've ever had!! By the time we were done, the entire living room table was covered in crab juice and bits of shell. We played a couple of games of Spooks, which is a really fun game when you have a few people playing. Shevona lent us her Rogers card in return for returning her movies for her. So we rented movies and went home. It was an awesome Saturday!!

So we drive off and get to his appartment. It's really cool and big and there's artwork all over and a bunny and a kitty and a puppy! I had lots of things to snuggle with and my choice of three couches to sleep on! That evening, we were invited to Anna's place for supper. We had potatoes, sausage and yams. I've never had yams before, but apparently they are a Vancouver staple. I met Anna's girlfriend, Sielous (I think that's how its spelled) who is super cool. I don't remember how many times I nodded off that day, but it was a lot. We didn't do much on Wednesday. Fin had to drive a friend to an appt, so I had the place to myself. Procrastinated about working on my essay and ended up playing mah jong until Fin got home. Then we went out for a walk. Found some neat stuff, went and had eggs benny at a greasy spoon and then we hit a market and bought some fruit and groceries and stuff. We kept running into people that Fin knows, so we stopped and chatted and stuff. Then I discovered that I had lost $80.00 from my wallet somewhere between the greasy spoon and the last coffee shop we were at. Crappy!! At least the weather was gorgeous.
Thursday morning I woke up with a GYNORMOUS headache. It was so bad that I was considering going to see a doctor. I popped some pills. Then I popped some more. Then we went for a hike!! It was soooo beautiful!! Big huge trees, moss all over them, hanging from the branches. We followed the river which consisted of the clearest water I've ever seen. We checked out the suspension bridge and saw a few waterfalls and eventually made our way out of the woods about three hours later. My headache was gone by then, but my muscles were quiverin', so I suggested we find a sauna. "Oh, there's one on Hastings street." says Fin. Great!! We'll meet Anna there at 7:00, after supper. So we go to this place called The Carnegie. It's basically a rich man's soup kitchen. We found a place to park down in China Town and walked past numerous people lounging in various places on the sidewalk. In we go. Up to the second floor where we aquired a three-dollar meal of wild salmon, brown rice, yams, homemade bread and a torte. Mmmmm. It was actually really nummy. Then we met Anna. We walk into this really sketchy front area. The desk runns almost the full length of the room and is made of very old dark wood with fancy mouldings. There are chalk boards on the wall behind it and a peg board with about 20 keys with cheap plastic key tags tied to them with string. A man comes out and gets us to sign in. He takes our money, gives us each a sheet and a towel, and leads us into the back. We are given two rooms with a door at each end. Two small cots sit against each side wall and there is a small shelf supporting a fan with a mirror suspended above it. The room is decorated with a replica painting that has been signed by various previous patrons. A few minutes later, I emerge through the second door with my flimsy sheet wrapped around me, into a large room with a shower in it. The door of the second "change" room also connects to this shower. To the left of this room is a cedar door behind which voices float out to me. So I go right in. There sit Fin and Anna chatting animatedly while squirting eucaliptus water on the rocks. I can see the wood is splintering off the benches and the walls have been repaired...though not very well. We enjoy our sauna anyhow. Once in a while, one of us would pop out and cool off under the shower. Needless to say, by the time we got out of there, we were all trying vainly to cover ourselves beneath our transparent white sheets. Now....I really tried not to look at Fin at all...but I accidently saw his butt. I'm disturbed. Anyhow...now that I've got that off my chest, I can talk myself into believing that my brother has no butt. No butt at all.
No butt. No butt. My brother has no butt. La la la... :)

Well, sorry I haven't been able to update like I planned during my holiday. My brother has this crappy mac with problems that I didn't feel like fixing and it wouldn't display my page properly. Anyhow, I'm home now and have access to normal computers...hehehe. I can say this and not feel bad about it because I'm a mac tech.
Anyhow, it was a long week. Much too long to tell you about in one short blog update. So I'll write a few through the next few days and tell my stories.
The first day that I arrived was a complete writeoff. I got there Tuesday morning and waited at the airport conversing with anyone who would listen in between making frantic calls to my brother wondering if he forgot about me and trying to convince myself that he got stuck in traffic for an hour. Okay, I probably overreacted, but I had this horrible fear that he forgot about me and went out of town for a few days or something wacky like that. Anyhow, he eventually showed and we went to the car.
Now, Fin has this car. Hee hee hee. It gets us from point A to point B...but barely, and certainly not legally. There is not muffler, so it is so loud that when he drives down the strip, he sets off people's car alarms. We must also mention the gas factor. It's like sitting in a hot box in the back of that car, man. Wheeeee!!!! Who doesn't love the smell of exhaust in the morning? But the gaping hole covered by the duct tape and plastic in the back passenger window provides a little ventilation.
More later....

Hey there everyone! Hope everyone's valentines day was okay. I normally hate the day, and I usually greet it with a scowl on my face. But I have to admit that I actually had a good time last night...not that spending time with my boy isn't always a good time. I gave a little valentines box of chocolates to Terry the bus driver on Saturday morning. The look on his face was priceless...heh. All I could see was a big goofy smile as I climbed down from the bus. Well, he derserves a little appreciation. It's hard to keep your spirits up and remain a nice person when you have such a mundane, thankless job. I know I couldn't do it, so kudos to Terry the bus driver who always makes sure I get my coffee on the way to work. So, I'm sitting in my brother's appartment right now. Yup, vacation time. The flight was good. I like and hate flying. I'm paranoid that I'm going to die in a plane crash. Something that was read in a cup of tea leaves that has followed me around for about 10 years now...heh. You know, the tea leaves are never wrong!! Kidding. I'm really tired and feeling kinda jet-lagged right now. The day is two hours longer for me today. I had a nap and a hot bath and I'm feeling a bit better now. its so nice here!!! Fin has such a cool appartment!! There are lots of critters to cuddle here. A puppy and a kitty and a bunny!! I can't wait to go exploring the city. The weather is beautiful and sunny and warm. The grass is green and the flowers are in bloom. YEEEEEE!!!! Anyhow, now that I have some time here to update my blog, stay tuned for the next episode of Michelle's adventures in Vancouver. Ta ta!!

| Takin' the bus |
| 02.05.05 (7:52 am) [edit] |

I have a new favourite bus driver. His name is Terry. Boarding the 16 on a Saturday morning is a fairly new occurance for me. It's only the second time I've had to do it to get to work on Saturdays. I recognized the driver as the same guy who drove last week. He recognized me as well. I was feeling particularily chatty and after a few minutes had engaged in a group conversation with the driver and another man who was the only other passenger. Then we were off. The roads were terrible and it was a very bumpy ride. Eventually, the other man got off and I had the entire bus to myself. The driver and I were engaged in some stimulating conversation when I mentioned that I'd like to get off at the next stop so that I could run to Robin's Donuts before work, but as we neared the lights, I saw that it had closed down. He mentioned that he was driving past the Robin's express on 51st street if I wanted. He said he'd stop for a few minutes because he wanted a coffee too. COOL!! So I stayed and we chatted until we got to the stop, where we both jumped out and made a mad dash across the food-deep snow that blanketed the parking lot. We got our coffee and returned to the bus right on schedule. I made it to work 15 minutes early, coffee and Robin's egg s in hand, happy as a clam.
SBN - COOL!! I had a great time last night. But then first games are always a lot of fun. Jen's character (Raquel) and mine (Sarah) played off each other beautifully. We were so catty toward each other! It was so much fun to play something challenging. I think we did fairly good. Maybe we'll have to tone down the frequency of our barbs just a tad to prevent it from becoming tiresome...but we're still testing the waters. All in all, it was great.

| I'm missing my friends |

It would seem as though I have "lost" my blog friends. None of the links work anymore. So, if you guys could send me your URLs, I'll update my links so that they work again. Silly server upgrades.
Well, What's new in the life of the amazing ME? My car is dead. Strangest thing. So, the realities of college life have finally hit me as my poor dead car sits in the street, it's owner too poor to fix it. I am now officially a bus bum. It's not good...it's not bad. I have some pretty interesting adventures on the bus, as you can imagine. But I don't really have time to tell you about them right now. I think I've also come up with a solution to the problem of how to pay the bills over the summer. I think I'm going to go tree planting in BC. I know that it'll be really hard work, but I think that 4 months in the bush would do me some good. I'm hoping that my brother will apply to the same company and we could work together for the summer. That'd really be swell. School...well for the most part it's going okay. I've been sick for about two weeks now with a nasty cough that hurts my head. So I have this constant headache on top of it. I'm sure I'll live, but I'm not a happy baby. It's getting tiresome. Biology is going pretty good so far. Tomorrow I'll get to try out my new scalpel...EEEEEEP!! Yes folks, I finally get to dissect something. I know, I know...I'm a ghoul. Archaeology is still as lame as ever. I really hate this prof's lectures. So boring and disorganized. Boring boring boring. Well, I'll stick it out and get the credit. We'll see how it goes.
This is interesting:

You scored as Chaotic Neutral. A Chaotic Neutral person is someone who is self-motivated to the extreme. Thier actions may sometimes confuse others, due to their lack of moral affiliation. They have little respect for laws, and avoid both the temptation of evil and a feeling of duty to do good. These people can go along with either side of an argument- as long as they benifit from the result! What is your Alignment? created with QuizFarm.com | Hmmm??? Ciao!!
